Olin Fearing, M.D.
Dr. Fearing is one of the physicians at MyMD Select – Nacogdoches. He attended medical school and completed his residency in San Antonio, Texas. He served four years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, and currently has 30 years of Family Medicine experience under his belt in Nacogdoches, Texas.
When asked why he chose to work for MyMD Select he stated, “This is a new and wonderful opportunity to practice the comprehensive and holistic continuity medicine I was trained to practice.”
His favorite part of working for MyMD Select – Nacogdoches is the shared challenges and joys of medicine across the age ranges.
Fun Facts about Dr. Fearing:
- He grew up and trained in San Antonio, Texas.
- After 4 years in the Navy, he got to East Texas as quickly as he could and has never looked back.
- He has grown to love the outdoors camping and hiking all over Texas.
- He and his wife have six children and 10 grandchildren and will talk about them at every opportunity.
Jeremy Smith, M.D.
Dr. Jeremy Smith has worked in healthcare for more than 17 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Midwestern State University and his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After completing his residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, he began practicing medicine in Nacogdoches.
Raised by incredible parents, and now a husband and father of three himself, Dr. Smith understands what it’s like to care of a family.
In 2014 MyMD Select was born and that practice model has allowed him to combine his expertise with genuine care for patients. That vision has expanded across East Texas, allowing thousands of patients to confidently take control of their health.
He loves traveling the world watching his favorite soccer teams. Hunting, fishing and farming are also part of his off time.
Lacee Pierce
Meet the newest member of the MyMD Select family, Lacee Pierce – Family Nurse Practitioner. Lacee will be working with both the Nacogdoches and Lufkin locations!
Lacee received her Bachelors in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University in 2000. She then worked as an RN in critical care for more than 10 years. She earned her Masters in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner at Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2012. Lacee has worked as a FNP-C for more than 10 years caring for all groups of people across their lifespan treating acute and chronic illnesses and promoting wellness.
“I enjoy caring for all demographics and have done quite a bit of women’s health including family planning procedures, such as insertion and removal of IUDs and Nexplanon contraceptives. Much of my career has been managing chronic illness, especially Type II diabetes.”
Lacee said she chose MyMD Select because “I wanted to be able to focus more on prevention and wellness with an organization that places importance on building relationships and trust with your clients in order to reach their health goals through supporting positive lifestyle choices and practices. I want clients to reach and maintain optimal health for optimal quality of life.”
Kace Calan MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Kace’s nursing background is in emergency medicine and rural health care. She graduated from NEO A&M nursing school in 2013 and went straight to work at Freeman Hospital Emergency Department, a level 2 trauma center in Joplin, Missouri. Kace then began working for Integris Hospital Emergency Department, a small rural hospital in Miami, Oklahoma where she stayed for 8 years while she worked her way through nurse practitioner school through the University of Central Arkansas, where she graduated in 2020 with her BSN and MSN. After graduating she worked for the Community Health clinic in Miami Oklahoma.
Kace said she chose to work for MyMD Select because, “I wanted to work for a patient centered practice that ensured their patients are taken care of.”
Her favorite part of working for MyMD Select is being able to help the patients.
Fun facts about Kace:
- She is originally from northeastern Oklahoma
- She moved to Nacogdoches two years ago after joining MyMD Select
- She and her husband have been married for 14 years
- They have a 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son who are both very active in sports and love to be outside
- As a family they enjoy being outdoors and spending time together at the lake or pool
